Turmeric Tea Recipe
I created this turmeric tea recipe after visiting a food forest in Costa Rica. David Dieterle, the creator of Té Namasté, showed me how to make turmeric tea and taught me the health benefits of turmeric. Try this simple, medicinal recipe!
- 2 cans Lite Coconut Milk
- 2 tbsp Turmeric Powder
- 1 tbsp Ginger Powder
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp Nutmeg
- Stevia to taste
Optional: Fennel, Cardamom, Star Anise, Cloves, Caraway
How To Make Turmeric Tea
In a small pot, lightly toast spices on medium heat (2 min). Add coconut milk. Vigorously stir. Cover (5 min). Do not boil. Stir again until completely mixed. Turn off heat and cover (10 min). Pour in quart jar and refrigerate for 24 hours. Shake well before opening. Add 1/2 cup turmeric tea to 1/2 cup boiling water. Stir in stevia and enjoy!
Toasting spices brings out flavor and aroma. Resting for 24 hours blends flavors and increases potency. Turmeric stains clothing, porcelain, and most surfaces. Wash dishes immediately.

- Fresh Turmeric Tea: replace powders with fresh turmeric and ginger. Use a blender to thoroughly mix ingredients with coconut milk.
